Vaginal pH testing measures the acidity or alkalinity of vaginal secretions. It is an important screening tool to differentiate between normal vaginal environment and infections such as bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and candidiasis. Normal vaginal pH is typically 3.8–4.5; values above this range may indicate pathogenic overgrowth.
