Pretest:
Ensure proper filling of the citrate tube (underfilling alters results). Avoid hemolysis and clotted samples. Patient should inform about anticoagulant medications (e.g., warfarin). Report includes PT (seconds) and INR values. Testing should be done within 4 hours of sample collection.
