Pretest:
Avoid red meat, turnip, broccoli, radish, and vitamin C supplements for 48–72 hours before test (if Guaiac method used). Avoid NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, aspirin) unless prescribed. Do not collect sample during menstruation or active bleeding from hemorrhoids. Collect stool in a clean, dry container—avoid contamination with urine or water.
