The Clostridium difficile GDH, Toxin A and Toxin B qualitative test detects C. difficile infection (CDI) in stool samples by identifying the glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) antigen and toxins A and B. It helps diagnose antibiotic-associated diarrhea and pseudomembranous colitis.
Pretest:
Collect fresh stool sample in a sterile, leak-proof container. Avoid contamination with urine or water. Do not use stool from rectal swabs. Inform your clinician if you’re on or have recently completed antibiotic therapy.
