The Chlamydia trachomatis IgG Antibody test detects IgG antibodies produced in response to past or chronic infection with Chlamydia trachomatis. It helps in evaluating previous exposure, infertility investigations, and chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
Pretest:
No fasting required. Recommended in cases of infertility, recurrent miscarriage, or chronic PID. Results should be correlated with clinical findings and other diagnostic tests such as Chlamydia IgM or PCR.
