Pretest:
Fasting is not mandatory but preferred for best accuracy. Avoid alcohol and high-fat meals for at least 8 hours before testing. Inform your doctor about any medications or supplements (especially anticonvulsants or oral contraceptives) as they may affect ALP levels.
