Acid Phosphatase (ACP) test measures the level of acid phosphatase enzyme in blood, seminal fluid, or tissue. It is used in diagnosing prostate disorders, monitoring prostate cancer, and evaluating certain lysosomal storage diseases.
Pretest:
Avoid ejaculation for 2–3 days before the test if seminal fluid ACP is being measured. Fasting is not required for blood ACP testing. Inform the lab about any prostate treatments, medications, or recent surgeries. Follow any specific physician instructions related to sample collection.
